WCC Golf Course Tour
The course is a very well-conditioned nine (9) hole course that utilizes multiple sets of tee markers and second hole locations to change the playing experience between the front and back sides. Five (5) sets of tee markers are positioned to make the course playable for all skill levels. Established Zoysia fairways and mixed fescue rough make the play through the green challenging and enjoyable.
The Bent Grass greens are meticulously cared for and, although challenging to read, produce a true roll. The course traverses over gently rolling terrain that features mature trees, sand bunkers and lakes that are in play on five (5) of the nine (9) holes. Accuracy is the key to playing the course well.
Located on a sprawling parcel, our tree-lined 9 hole golf course features Zoysia fairways and Bent Grass greens that are among the areas best. The par 35 (Men) and par 36 (Women) is an excellent opportunity to play a relaxing round of golf with family and friends.
This is a dangerous uphill par 3 that plays 170 yards from the black tees. The green slopes back to front with ever increasing slope as you approach the front edge. The tee shot is challenged by a large sand bunker right and a smaller bunker left. The OB left is the full length of the hole and the terrain slopes left toward the white stakes at the green location. The best miss is about 10 yards short of the front edge where you will have a relatively easy uphill pitch shot remaining from the closely mown grass.
The third hole has been lengthened and is now a Par 5. This is the longest hole on the course at over 540 yards. Favor the right side of the fairway from the tee as the OB stakes are very close to the play for the entire length of the hole. Large trees right separate the number 3 and 4 fairways. A long sand filled waste area will save some shots from the left OB but will leave a long shot from a sandy lie for the second. Do not miss the green left as the OB is very close. A miss long will release down a large hill and leave a blind uphill pitch shot to a green that slopes toward the fairway. Best miss on the approach is center short.
Large trees down both sides of the fairway define this hole that plays a short 345 yards from the black tee markers. You can sacrifice distance for accuracy from the tee. The green is guarded front right and front left by small sand bunkers. The green features “false sides on both the right and left sides of the green making it play much smaller than it appears. Balls landing just short of the green will release into the center or back portions of the green. A right side miss will leave a pitch shot from trees and sparse grass.
The large spruce tree that appears as in the middle of the fairway is actually on the right edge of the fairway on this 370 yard par 4 from the black tee markers. A tee shot of 220 yards will leave a second shot from a level lie that can easily be hit over or around the large spruce tree to a kidney shaped green that plays downhill about 1 club. Longer hitters need to play left of the spruce tree as the terrain will yield a downhill lie that will be difficult to elevate over the spruce tree. Here again large trees line both sides of the fairway. The green is protected by sand bunkers short right and long left. Shots slightly long of the green are in danger of finding the lake beyond. The putting surface has strong slopes back to front. Best miss is just short of the putting surface or the bunker right.
This slight dogleg left hole plays 275 yards from the black tee markers. The tee shot must be hit over the lake and either between or over the large trees right and left that frame the tee shot. Length is not paramount on the tee shot. However a highly launched tee shot with a driver can leave just a short chip into this mounded green that slopes back to front on the right side and right to left on the left side. Trouble is in play from the tee box, but a well-positioned driver or fairway wood can yield a tap in birdie on this risk-reward design.
This recently re-designed hole plays 275 yards from the black tee markers. The tee shot must avoid the water on the right side of the fairway, yet be far enough to the right to yield a proper angle of attack to the hard sloping left to right green. Heavy rough and mounding is in play the entire length down the left side. A center right shot of 190 yards will leave about a 70 yard pitch shot into the slope when the pin is center to front. The shot to the back pin location will release away from the player and to the right. The sloping green keeps the lake in play on the approach shot. Positioning of the approach shot is key to leaving an uphill putt on the fast and hard sloping surface of this green.

This hole features two flags for the play on 9 and 18. The figure 8 shaped green sits at an angle of about 30 degrees to the right and away from the tee box yielding a long but shallow surface that is elevated on the right and features a pronounced right to left slope. From the black tee boxes with the upper level right pin this is a most difficult hole to par. Tee shots must carry the lake that is defined by its newly constructed decorative block retaining wall which prevents shots from “skipping” over the water. Long tee shots will leave a difficult uphill pitch shot to a surface that slopes away from the player. Best miss is over the lake but short of the green leaving a relatively easy uphill chip. Play to the middle of the top right section of the green to give the most room for error. Distance control is a must here.
