The land currently known as Waterloo Country Club was originally a fishing club called Island Pond Club. When that did not succeed, a few motivated golfers organized Waterloo Country Club, which was first incorporated in 1925. Just two years later, the Club held its first Match Play Championship, an event that remains a tradition today.
During the depths of the depression, the Club was down to 55 members and only 8 of those paid golf fees. While the game of golf has not changed much since those times, the Waterloo Country Club has morphed from a small Club with sand greens, to the gorgeous nine-hole landscape that it is now.
With it's great facilities and vibrant membership, the current Waterloo Country Club has overcame many obstacles to get to where it is today. Next year, the Club will celebrate its 85th birthday!
